Champs Élysées

Champs Élysées
The Avenue des Champs Élysées is a famous street in Paris that has been described as "the most beautiful avenue in the world" (French: "la plus belle avenue du monde"). It is also one of the most expensive real estate locations in the world.

The Avenue des Champs Élysées is approximately 1.2 miles (1.9 kilometers) long. It runs from the Place de la Concorde in the East, to the Place Charles de Gaulle (containing the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile) in the West.

The Champs Élysées is lined with clipped chestnut trees, and contains buildings such as the Théâtre Marigny (a famous historic theater), the Grand Palais (a historic museum complex and exhibition site), as well as cinemas, restaurants and cafés, as well as luxury boutiques and speciality shops.

The Champs Élysées is named after the Elysian Fields, the place according to Greek mythology, where the blessed dead would go.
